Patriots for America
Who We Are and What We Do
The
purpose of the Patriots For America is to form a group of like minded
citizens throughout all fifty states to educate voters and promote
petitions, letter-writing campaigns, and, if necessary, protests to
make our voices heard by our representatives in Government at all
levels. (instead of "influence the political parties with the truth about conditions as they arise", as we are non-partisan).
This would not be a strictly Christian organization but rather a
non-partisan organization dedicated to the promotion of Constitutional
Government and our Nation's Christian heritage. Our actions will be
determined as conditions arise in our government; local, state, and
federal.
We believe that the Constitutions (State and Federal)
that were formed years ago should be upheld now just as they were in
the past. We don't believe that Judges or Lawmakers are smarter today
than the Founders that wrote or the Judges that upheld them in the past.
We believe that our forefathers wrote these documents in clear English
language so that you do not have to be a law professor to understand
their meaning.
We do not believe that patriotism has or needs a
new definition. The actions of our citizens over the years are clear
and understandable, and define Patriotism perfectly. Our elected
officials take an oath to defend the Constitution from all enemies,
foreign and domestic. We believe that anyone whose actions are
detrimental to the defense of the people or the Constitution is an
enemy of the people and should be called out, no matter what position
they may hold.
We believe there are still enough informed
citizens today willing to donate small amounts of money to support our
political organization, and so to influence governmental processes and
promote the election of Constitutionally minded candidates offices at
all levels of Government. We want to unite people of all political
stripes that are concerned with saving the America we have known in the
past; not only for us, but for our children and grandchildren. Together
we can make a difference and be heard.
There are three immediate problems that need to be addressed right now.
(This list could be changed and amended as we go, to reflect the current issues we are focused on.)
1.
We have no comprehensive energy policy. Today's gas prices are the
result. Instead of partisan bickering, we need an "all of the above"
approach to our energy needs, now and for the future. Conservation,
American Oil, Nuclear Power, and other Alternative Energy Sources are all needed.
2.
Globalist and misguided members of our Government, along with their
accomplices in the media and other private groups, are trying to create
a international tax in the name of Global Warming or Climate Change.
Both of the major party candidates support a "Cap and Trade System" on
carbon emissions. All this is will do is cripple the American economy
while funneling large amounts of money to the UN or third-world
nations, depending on the plan. They say "The Science is settled, we
have a scientific consensus." What they don't tell you is that there is
no consensus, and even if there were, there is no scientific proof,
which until recently was the standard way of 'settling the science'.
All they have are wild guesses and faulty computer models based on
limited understanding of a massively complex system. We shouldn't be
setting economic policy based on what may happen in 50 years when they
can't get the forecast right for next week.
3. Our education
system is a mess. We can't compete on a global level educationally
because we have all but abandoned anything resembling absolute
standards. We have thrown God out of the schools and told the students
they are just slightly better than apes. What incentive to learn and
behave morally, with any kind of work ethic, does that leave our
students? Our kids are not being taught American History, State
History, or Civics in any meaningful way. They emerge from the
educational system ready to swallow whatever they are told, without the
historical knowledge or logic-based critical thinking skills needed to
be a responsible voting citizen. Coupled with an emphasis of
'self-esteem' over actual academic standards, this has led to a
education system in major need of an overhaul top to bottom.
In
the name of environmental concern our Congress has voted to outlaw
incandescent light bulbs in favor of 'curly' florescent bulbs, most of
which contain Mercury. Despite a polar bear population explosion in the
past fifty years, regulatory agencies have listed them as 'threatened'
because of 'global warming'. In practical application, this ruling
means that emitting carbon dioxide could be the legal equivalent of
poaching. In the name of protecting American citizens our Government
has implemented massive spying programs and confiscated firearms from
licensed, law abiding people in New Orleans. They have made
unprecedented police crackdowns involving everyone from the local
Sheriff to the F.B.I., focused on the American citizens in the Memphis,
TN area. In these operations they pulled speeders over and called them
"Terrorists", simply for speeding...or rolling a stop sign. These
actions are all inexcusable. We need to unite against these abuses of
power if we are to have any chance of preserving our freedoms.
We ask that you join us in this very important endeavor by going to www.patriotsforamerica.net (make this a link to the home page). There you can sign up to join the Patriots for America and make your voice heard. We also ask that you make a Donation Pledge(make the word 'donations' a link to a pledge form, or maybe a link to E-mail the treasurer or secretary), to go into effect as soon as we are properly set up to receive money. (add "You can also go sign up to be on our mailing list , to be kept up to date on our activities and meetings." as soon as we have the ability to maintain such a list). We believe this is a noble cause and hope you will join us.
